HOT SolisAcura™ Exo(-) DNA Polymerase has been genetically modified to be extremely sensitive to mismatches on the 3’ ends of primers, resulting in superior performance in SNP detection and allele discrimination. It has 10-15x higher fidelity compared to wild-type Taq polymerase, which comes from choosing nucleotides more accurately. Additionally, there is no 3′→5′ exonuclease (proofreading) activity with this enzyme. What is more, the Exo(-) in the enzyme’s name refers to the polymerase not possessing 5′→3′ exonuclease activity.
The novel polymerase is also engineered to have faster synthesis rates and is inherently inhibitor tolerant, ensuring excellent performance with crude or challenging samples. It comes with chemical hot-start that improves the specificity and accuracy of the reaction, minimizes mispriming and extension from non-specifically annealed primers and primer-dimers.
Additionally, the HOT SolisAcura™ Exo(-) DNA Polymerase is room temperature stable for up to 1 month due to the use of Stability TAG – Solis BioDyne’s proprietary and patented polypeptide stabilization technology that is incorporated into the enzyme, enabling environmentally friendly ambient temperature shipping [1]. Room temperature stability also enables maximum convenience allowing reactions to be set up without ice at room temperature.
